I'm allergic to bro-marketing techniques and my eye literally twitches when passionate, fiery entrepreneurs disappear in their copy.

So, let's fix that. Shall we?

Hi, I'm jacqueline

Who are your biggest cheerleaders? The ones that respond with an instant “yassss queen” after you text them a picture of the overnight oats you’re so proud of?

I am going to guess that it’s the people who know you the best. Your ride or die gang shows up because you’ve let them in. You’ve let them see the good, the bad, and even those shameful photos you took at a mall kiosk in the ’90s. It’s the authentic you that hooks people, so why are so many of us surprised when copy that is impersonal and generic falls flat?

Too often we treat the world of business like it isn’t based on relationships. We get caught up in all the back end and branding details that we forget why we got into this…our clients.  Clients don’t stop being humans when they purchase a service or product.  The business decisions we make are based on what makes us human—our relationships.

In fact, you’ve probably done a mini happy dance at your desk when a solid referral turned into a new client, right? There it is again—connection! The same applies to your potential clients. They need to connect WITH YOU, boss. Make it easy for them.

Now, there’s a good chance you’ve gotten used to prioritizing strategy over story. So, to get you back in touch with the complete badassery that is you, here are some tips on how you can make your copy inviting, engaging, and accessible.

Share your background. You don’t have to be a superhero or Eminem in 8 mile to have a newsworthy origin story. When you share where you came from, it gives your clients a frame of reference. This will also give them a baseline for understanding you.

Tell them what motivates you. Why do you do what you do? The REAL reason. Is it because you know life would be a million times better if more women had a seat at the table? Is it because disorganization and a lack of systems make your eye twitch? Get honest on your big “why”.

Open up! You know those defining moments that shaped you into who you are? That’s where your clients can connect with you. Your openness to change and growth shows people you can meet them where they are.

Realize who you are. How are you different from your competition? What makes you the sequence clad unicorn of your industry?  You have something to offer that other businesses don’t—you! (Yes, that’s enough dammit) Share the unique perspective you bring to your client’s challenges.

Yes and, yourself! In improv, the best improvisers support and add to their scene partners’ ideas. It’s like giving a constant squeezy hug to someone’s creative thought process. The kind that makes their eyes bulge out a little. You know what you want to share with your audience but are too afraid to do so? Take that tiny step forward and be fully you.

What do you think? Does that feel doable? If it doesn’t, that’s why I’m here. I’ve got you! I can walk you through this process so that your copy is 100% you. Schedule a call with me today.
